Meditation

The main meditation techniques

There are hundreds of meditation techniques, but don't worry, you don't need to know them all from the start. In fact, it's not even recommended. To begin, you'll only need two or three techniques. Therefore, it's better to focus your energy and effort on these few techniques rather than spreading yourself too thin. This will help you progress more quickly.

The 4 most common types of meditation :

Vipassana Meditation :

It is based on breathing and helps develop concentration and focus. It is considered the foundation of other techniques, since without these elements it is difficult to progress on the path of meditation.

Transcendental Meditation :

It consists of repeating mantras to achieve deep relaxation and develop consciousness. Although it seems simple, mastering it fully requires experience.

Zen Meditation :

It changes our perception of reality through observation and reflection, allowing a radical change in the way we see the world and ourselves.

Mindfulness Meditation :

It frees you from constant thoughts and allows you to live in the present moment, being aware of yourself, your surroundings, and others.

Begin meditation

You can begin right now. Close your eyes, breathe slowly, and focus on the sensation of the air entering and leaving your nose. If you lose focus, simply refocus on your breathing.
Try it for 3 minutes. Congratulations! You've completed your first meditation session. Although it was brief, you probably felt a little relaxed. Imagine the results after weeks of consistent practice.

The basic principle of meditation

Meditation develops attention and concentration, key skills for improving our daily lives. It helps us control the constant flow of thoughts, reducing stress and improving the quality of our social interactions and self-understanding.

Developing these skills allows us to:

  • Be more tolerant, social, and empathetic.
  • Examine our inner selves accurately to accept our strengths and weaknesses.
  • To achieve a more balanced and happy life.
